Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson caught five passes for 77 yards in Monday game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, passing Steve Largent for 14th place on the all-time list for receiving yards, per Drew Dougherty of the Texans’ official website.
Johnson entered the game with 13,080 career receiving yards, nestled between Largent (13,089) and Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith (12,837) on the all-time list.
The 33-year-old longtime Texan surprisingly didn’t pass Largent until the fourth quarter.
Johnson finally got going on Houston’s first drive of the final frame, catching a pair of passes for 45 yards to set up a 31-yard field goal from kicker Randy Bullock that pulled the Texans within eight points at 24-16.
It was the first of Johnson’s two catches on the drive, a 24-yard gain, that vaulted him past Largent on the all-time list.
