With 11 years of NFL experience, Andre Johnson said he’s confident he’ll be able to pick up first-year head coach Bill O’Brien’s new offense. It will be the first offense that Johnson will have to learn since 2006, when former head coach Gary Kubiak arrived in Texas.

“When you’ve been around the game for a while, you’ve seen a lot of things, you’ve seen a lot of offense,” Johnson told CBSHouston.com. “So, it’s some of the same things, different names.”

The Pro Bowler has missed a majority of training camp with a hamstring injury. Regardless, Johnson said he’s been able to observe from the sidelines and during the team’s afternoon walk-through sessions.

“It’s different,” he said. “It’s a challenge. At the same time, you just have to study it. I think that’s the biggest thing, you know, just studying it, staying on top of it.”

The Texans open the regular season against Washington on Sept. 7.
